Tesco Greener Living are offering digital versions of popular magazine to download for free!

The bad news is that the site says that the reader software needs your PC to be at least 2 GHz processor speed, with a minimum 512 MB of RAM and at least 1 GB free hard disk space — so that’s me out then.

UPDATE: There is an option to read the digital magazine in your web browser but you will need Flash installed and it’s still not really a practical option for the RAM (PC memory) challenged like me.

Posters on the Hot UK Deals website report that Tesco have 2-packs of Energy Saving Remote Control Sockets on sale instore for just £7.49 (about half the price as on their website!).

Great for using in those hard to reach sockets.

(As an aside, I also spotted rolls of 20 drawstring refuse sacks, made from recycled materials, in their new £1 range.)

If you can’t find any of the GE 11W energy saving lightbulbs at 5 for 40p, have a look for their own brand Tesco’s 15W Low Energy Light Sticks (equivalent to a 75W normal bulb), that are currently likewise priced at 5 for 40p (or just the one for 50p).

Tesco have an offer on energy saving lightbulbs at 5 for 40p (or £1 each!) instore.

It’s limited to a particular range of ‘bulbs (GE 11W, if memory serves) and my local branch mostly had the screw-top type of ‘bulb and only a couple of the traditional bayonet types left, so prepare to be disappointed if they’ve run out at your local branch.
